Sven-Erik Olsen is aN indie pop tunesmith FROM MPLS.
A veteran of the Minneapolis music scene, singer-songwriter Sven-Erik Olsen's official solo debut album, SKETCHBOOK TRACES was released on September 8th, 2017.
Musically influenced primarily by 1960's pop giants such as Brian Wilson and Ray Davies, with cryptic and caustic lyrics inspired by Bob Dylan and Elvis Costello, Olsen's compelling and distinctive sound is uniquely his own and defies categorization, earning comparison with artists ranging from The Left Banke to Joy Division. He has been featured by The Big Takeover and The Current 89.3, earning rave reviews from critics for his "deft take on the dreamy mid-to-late 60s pop sound", identifying him as an artist "adept at molding a familiar sound to his sensibilities" (John Worley, Aiding & Abetting). Olsen is currently working throughout the Midwest both as a solo acoustic artist and with his 4 piece rock ensemble.
